Child protection and safeguarding

Child protection and safeguarding at Meath Green Junior School

Meath Green Junior school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

‘Safeguarding is everyone’s concern’

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

We make every effort to provide an environment in which children and adults feel safe, secure, valued and respected, and feel confident to talk if they are worried, believing they will be effectively listened to.

This means that we have a Child Protection Policy and procedures in place which we refer to in our prospectus. All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are aware of these procedures. Parents, carers and all stakeholders are welcome to read the Policy which can be found on the school website or on request from the school office.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare. Please refer to the Child protection policy under polices in the Key Information section of the website.
